Hold me closer, Tony Danza

My little girl began "Baby Ballet" the other night. It is a class offered through our local Park & Recs and I had been eyeballing it for a while. The rule was 3 AND PT'ed, which she accomplished just a few months ago. So, once winter session opened up, I signed her up...I might have been the first to register I was so excited. :)

It started this past Wednesday and will run a total of 6 weeks. I wondered how it would go, a class full of 3-4 year olds trying to follow an instructor in ballet poses. I remember Amelia's tumbling class and how unorganized it felt at times. But, this class was different. For the most part all of the girls followed instruction and did what the instructor did. Initially, Amelia and her BFF Selby were a little timid and stared at her like she had 3 heads, but they eventually fell into line and became our little ballerinas. Amelia kept looking at us throughout the class, almost for reassurance, but to also say "Look at me!"

Another one of those reassurance/gloating glances. :)

I had a lot of fun picking out her outfit. The leotard and tights are from Target, the ballet shoes (Capezio brand) are from eBay and the leg warmers were made by Selby's Mom, Meg. She has an Etsy shop and takes custom orders, check her out sometime!

I did see it. I couldn't remember exactly when I wrote mine but I thought they were similar. :) I can't wait for next week either!! Amelia keeps asking everyday if we're going to "ballerina school."
