My big girl :sob:

My baby is turning THREE in six days. In honor of the big day, we [finally] decided to transition her crib into a big girl bed. We tried it almost a year ago and it was a disaster. We thought it couldn't happen again, right? ... Moving on, Friday night we put together the bed and Amelia was super excited. We talked it up and told her how she would sleep in it like a "big girl." She climbed right in and looked cute as can be. Little did we know, this would be the cutest she would look for the next few hours.

She lasted approximately 15 minutes in her bed, which is the same time Jamie left the room to let her "sleep." For hours, we heard the pitter-patter of her feet above until about 10:30 pm when Jamie went to lay down with her. Sigh. This would not be as easy as we imagined. The next day we went to a Pumpkin Patch and her nap was shortened significantly (and not in her bed). She was still up until 10:30 pm running around lapping up the freedom. :-| One positive to the late nights, she actually slept in past 7:00 am. :)

Today, we stayed home and she took zero nap (despite my husband's futile efforts). Fortunately, she was completely exhausted by tonight. And as luck would have it, she stayed in her bed and fell asleep within minutes.

I snuck in to take pictures of the phenomenon.

I seriously thought we were going to have to break out the crib again and keep her there until college.

Now, here comes my pessimistic side; I certainly hope this isn't the pattern for the future.
